Unfortunately, I am afraid I might not get an “A” in my pre-general chemistry class at my community college do to personal problems. Will it look better on my transcript if I drop the class, and get a “W” in the class, and get in “A” in all my other chemistry courses, or take the “B” and get an A in all my other chemistry courses? I plan on getting all “A’s” and this will most likely be the one class I don’t get one in.
Will it change your graduation date? A B isn’t the end of the world, granted it depends where you are applying.
I want to apply to UCLA and UCSD whichever I get accepted to is where I will attend, and then plan on going to dental school.
Do schools even look at pre pre general chemistry even though it shows on my transcript and affects my GPA.
Ultimately, wont it just look better on my transcript to have a “W” because it wont affect my GPA which is critical when applying to dental school? I only have 3 more days to make this decision.
A B looks better than a withdrawal.
@ aunt bea, I called UCSD which is where I want to get my Bachelor’s in Biology, and asked them if a “W” is fine if I get an “A” in my next 4 chemistry courses and she said its fine, and its a matter of do you need to units to transfer, or do you need to learn the material to help you in the next chemistry class. And then after that called UCSF school of dentistry which is where I want to attend, and I asked them what they think of the situation. The lady told me that they wouldn’t look at it too highly since its a pre general chemistry course. I still don’t know if I should drop even though it will affect my GPA, and who knows, what if I have to drop a class for a “W” later on? What should I do, I am so stressed out and cant believe im in this situation and I have “2” days to make this decision.
