transcript

Just curious....

which one looks better? A transcript with straight A's throughout high school or a transcript with improving grades....for example:

Transcript A:
Freshmen year - junior year: straight A's with the most challenging classes.

Transcript B:
Freshmen Year:
First Semester: A,A,A,A,A, B, C
Second Semester: A,A,A,A,A,A,B

Sophomore Year:
First Semester:A,A,A,A,A,A,B
Second Semester: A,A,A,A,A,A,A,

Junior Year:
First Semester: A,A,A,B,B,B
Second Semester: A,A,A,A,A,B

By the way, as you might've guessed already, Transcript B is mine :)

So, should I even aim for ivies or no?

honest opinion appreciated....

please.........any comment would be appreciated!!!!!!

I personally think Transcript B looks better, it makes you look more human. If I was a college admissions rep, I'd like B better because I know you have a beating heart and aren't some kind of machine. :D But that's just me.

I'd say either one has about equal chances, maybe Transcript A is a little better. But with the Ivies it's impossible to predict.

thanks ReninDetroit, anyone else?

definately.. there is nothing wrong with Bs unless there is an excess of them. and i agree with Renin 1000%.

Transcript A might look better but the impact in admissions is going to depend on the school you go to. If your school has the majority of students making straight-A's, then transcript B will put you at a disadvantage. Same thing is true if transcript B puts you in the bottom half or quarters or whatever of your class. At most high schools, transcript B, along with a pretty good rank will not hurt you for admissions.

I agree with tanman, transcript A is far more preferable if you want to get into Ivy. Improvement is good, but not as good as a perfect record.

Haha...looks human. So what are you saying? You can't be smart and human?
