Transcripts and the Counselor Rec Letter

Do counselors upload your transcript when they do the school form for common app? Because we have to pay for having our transcripts sent off to colleges, and you have to specially request that they take off standardized test scores. I can't imagine our counselors going through each transcript for each college and determining what to send (depending if they are score choice optional or not)... But on the commonapp site, there is a demonstrational video for counselors and it says that they can upload the transcript.

So we're paying to send our transcripts when our counselors upload it anyway?!

Once your counselor uploads your transcript into the common app, it is in there and you will see the date it was uploaded. Then the schools you apply to download it and you will see the date they downloaded. The counselor only uploads it once and as many school you apply to have access to it.

You should contact your school and ask about the charges since they only upload it once regardless of how many colleges you apply to so in theory, you should only pay for the one upload.
