Transcripts before SIR?

Hi all,

I know it's really close to June 1st, but I still haven't decided on which school I'd like to transfer to. Is it okay to send in transcripts before SIR'ing? I don't want to SIR and find out that I've missed a deadline :o

Thank you

@‌ SDSUCSD
You should start sending the transcripts now because it takes them 2 weeks to process (ucla). I’m also undecided, its either ucla or ucsd for me. Good luck.

I sent in my transcripts to UCLA before I SIRed there and it was totally okay

When are transcripts due…? I thought it was in July? Also spring grades aren’t even finished yet

Transcripts for all grades through Fall 2013 are due by June 1. Spring grades are due by July 15. So you will need to send them twice. You’d better hurry up and get them in ASAP

@2016Candles‌ what school is this for? my UCSD admission page says theyre due on the first of july

@cochoa14 Wait, so do you mean to say it’s already too late? SDSU says it’ll take 3 days to get to whichever school I send it to, so if I send it right now they’ll receive it by May 22nd. 2 weeks later brings us far past the June 1st deadline. Meh, maybe I’ll call them up

I just called them up and the guy on the other end of the line said that the transcript just needs to be postmarked by June 1st. So my understanding is that so long as you send it out before June 1st, you should be fine. To anyone with actual prior experience - feel free and please do correct me.

I’m talking UCLA.

2016Candle’s mistake is assuming that every school requires a preliminary transcript by June 1st like UCLA does. I don’t know about Berkeley but I believe UCLA is the only one that requires a transcript up to fall 2013.

Well they didn’t specify which school they were asking about.

Probably UCSD because of his username.

No, 2016Candles was helpful; if the blame should be directed at anyone it should be. My question was supposed to be general i.e. do UC’s mind if you send in transcripts before SIRing. Forgive me for not specifying which UC’s. (For what it’s worth, I’m deciding between UCLA and UCSD)

With that being said, @2016Candles, I was indeed talking UCLA as well and it was UCLA whom I called and got that information from. Regardless, I’m sending the transcript now…

Where to squeeze in “Attn: Transcripts” tho lol
