After your check mark for transcripts received gets checked off, anyone know how long it usually takes for them to check off transcripts validated?

I was told that UCSD begins verifying/validating transcripts after July 15th when everything has been turned in.

ic..... but my friend told me he had this check mark for transcript received and validated marked off.

Then I have no idea. That's what I was told but guess that's not the case.

what happens if we don't get all of the transcripts in on the 15th

yea what happens if your transcript gets lost in the mail o_O

mine still hasn't been checked...

if they don't receive your transcripts, my best guess is they'll do what they did last year: revoke your admission.

hah! that's nice to know! we're a lucky bunch. XD

for just that? i dont think so hehe

Actually it's perfectly reasonable for UCSD (or any college for that matter) to revoke your admission "for just that." They admitted you based upon the grade you inputted on the application. They want to verify that you did not lie which can only be done through transcripts. If you fail to deliver these transcripts to UCSD, I would say they have every right to show you the door unless these transcripts did not get to UCSD for reasons out of your control.

If you do not believe that they revoked admissions last year, try searching old threads.. I was here last year and I remember there were a swarm of threads regarding transcripts and getting revoked. People were panicking and I believe there is even one person here who got revoked because his high school failed to deliver his transcripts or whatever but fought his way back in.

Mine is checked, but not validated.

i still think thats unreasonable
i just hope the registrar sent it but if she didnt how is that my fault?

Have you called? If you make an effort to call I think they'll take note of that and see that you actually tried to contact them.

ric, i wish you would read more carefully.

"If you fail to deliver these transcripts to UCSD, I would say they have every right to show you the door unless these transcripts did not get to UCSD for reasons out of your control."

Obviously, if your high school registrar didn't send it in, it's not your fault. "It's out of your control." UCSD rescinded dozens of people last year because their high school registrar forgot to send it in or it got lost in the mail. Now, I'm sure those people didn't just sit around and do nothing. They obviously appealed and fought it.

So do the transcripts have to be postmarked by the 15, or they have to be at ucsd by the 15?

i called them and they said it's gotta be postmarked by 15th.

omg i sent in mine like more than a week ago and it still hasn't been checked... it really seems like they only have like 2 people managing the all the transcripts sent in...

^ Are you allowed to send in official trancripts? I thought the school was supposed to handle it?

woohoo!!! mine was just checked!
