I am getting ready to write the transcript to send to the NCAA Clearinghouse for my rising senior. Anyone have any experience or thoughts to share? For some reason, I am a nervous wreck. We are relaxed homeschoolers and the thought of putting ourselves "out there" for strangers to scrutinize makes me stress out. He is a good student, with a 4.0 including some on-line, NCAA approved classes and scored a 31 on his ACT, but no dual enrollment or AP classes. How closely do they scrutinize books lists, publishers, etc? I have done much better at record-keeping the past two years, but much of his freshman year will be from memory. Any advice?

Don’t worry about it. Just write it up in as traditional a format as you can. The NCAA has been cracking down on certain “homeschools” and private “academies” that have been falsifying student-athletes’ academic qualifications. They are not going after high-achieving homeschoolers like your son. Send your own transcript that integrates all his course work, and then have official transcripts sent for the online classes and an official score report from ACT. You’ll be fine!
