Transcripts Incomplete or not received?

Hello everybody! I just wanted to ask a quick question. You see I have been in two schools (9th and 10th in the state of Nevada and I am currently a senior overseas, yes that means I spent 11th and 12th outside of the U.S) When I applied to several universities, I see on the application statuses that my transcript for 9th and 10th are incomplete? Does this mean that the transcript must be sent from that specific school?? I have seen the transcript from my other school, because my counselor from this international school showed me it, and i noticed that for the two grades (9th and 10th) only the semester grades were shown, but not the final grades for each? Is this causing the problem? I mean my past school handed us this official transcript, how could it possibly be incomplete? Please help me! as the deadline is approaching I am desperate! Thanks in advance...

The transcript is not official unless it is sent by the school-- a transcript they handed you does not count, unfortunately.

In most cases, yes, schools will want transcripts from your old school in Nevada. The exception may be is if your intl school has a copy of that transcript and transcribed all of the information on the old transcript onto the new one. In that case (which was mine), they may not ask for the old transcript. If you have seen your new, intl transcript, and you believe it has enough information for the schools, you can certainly call (though that might be tricky with timezones) or email and ask them to take another look at your current transcript and see if it meets their requirements. (In some cases, it is a computer that processes requirements, not a person.) Or, if it’s easier, just ask your 9/10 school to send the schools an official transcript.
