Transcripts sent in error!?!!

So, my counselor sent out my transcripts hastily without asking me to look over them. All my colleges will get my transcripts two months early.. but with MULTIPLE, HUGE errors... I'm talking, very, very important mistakes. What should I do?? Send a follow up letter with the changes to all my colleges??? It was an error in communication between us on when to send the transcripts (AFTER being reviewed), and now I feel really screwed on what to do.

I haven't worked it out with my counselor either, still a little too worked up about the whole thing. It was a really huge mistake... my courses are not listed correctly, wrong grades, errors in course descriptions, etc.

I'm really at a loss here... any advice??? Follow-up letter, or should I wait until mid-year reports are due??? Should I explain in my common-application???

Have your GC contact them to make them aware of the errors, and send out new–100% correct–ones immediately.

Relax, it does happen more often than you think.

The school /GC should immediately send another one and with a huge red stamp on it somewhere in red ink – “REVISED”. The GC should send a letter of explanation that the school (and not the student) are responsible for sending transcripts prematurely and these contained errors.
Perhaps a parent/PTA might explore what happened here if widespread?

It’s important to make sure the language clearly denotes the school made an error rather than it looking as though grades were changed for some other reason that leads to odd speculation.

Seems you’re not alone-- others in your school will be in the same boat.
