I'm a community college student from the US applying to McGill. I submitted my application, but have a question about transcripts. I attended a lot of different schools (3 high schools, 3 community colleges). Thus, I don't have physical access to a lot of them, and am unable to upload them to Minerva. Is that required? Or is it just optional?

I'm having all my transcripts sent to McGill. I believe the deadline for supporting documents is April 1st (correct me if I'm wrong).

Which transcripts are you sending to McGill? Are they being sent right from the schools you attended? If so, you can have them sent to you, and then you can scan them in and upload them to the McGill website. The instructions are pretty clear that for US students, the transcripts should be uploaded. If for some reason this is not possible, maybe a call to admissions would be in order.

Fair enough. Thanks for the answer. I’m going to give them a call. One more question.

I’ve completed a year and a half of community college credits (81+ quarter units). Am I still required to submit my high school transcripts? I’ve already had them mailed, so I guess they will already get them. But the reason I ask is, will I need to upload my high school transcripts to Minerva?

If not, this should be pretty easy for me, as getting my college transcripts shouldn’t be a problem. I assume the uploaded transcripts do not need to be official copies, correct?

EDIT: From the McGill website:

“Do NOT mail or fax a copy of the documents that you have already uploaded to your application—doing so will slow down the review of your application.”

I guess the same rule would apply to uploading documents once you’ve already sent them. I’ll give them a call and ask just to make sure.
