I asked my current school to send transcripts in May to George Mason University. It is now June 15th and they have still not sent my transcripts. Is it possible that I can like file some type of complaint. They only sent them to one school and now it is really getting down to the wire.

My first college REFUSED to send my transcripts to NYU for some reason. I ended up doing it myself. I had them put it in a sealed envelope with a seal and then I put THAT envelope in my own envelope and FedEx-ed it.

Last year I had a problem getting a transcript out to one of my schools as well, I think that’s why I may have been rejected. This year I called them once every week for updates and confirmed that the recipient schools got them as well.

Not sure if a complaint will do anything to solve the problem, your best bet would be to tell GMU what happened and send them an unofficial one in the meantime.

I’ve found that it isn’t smart to rely on the school to send them. You are better off ordering them directly and they’ll seal them in an envelope with a seal or a stamp that states if this envelope is open, it is not official. You then mail this envelope w/transcript in a separate yellow manilla envelope to the school with a tracking # attached so you know it arrives.

I have yet to see a school reject an official transcript of mine when sent that way.

My (previous) school did not “hand out” official transcripts, never thought of having them sent to me in the mail then resending them. Good idea.

Yeah they won’t hand them to you in person, just mail them to an address of your choosing. Instead of putting in the school’s address you want them to go to, just mail em to yourself :)

Did you have to pay to send one of them?

Usually depends on the school, my school allowed to send up to 30 for free.
