transfer acceptance?

I am currently a freshman at Montclair State University and I want to transfer out to Rutgers New Brunswick in Fall 2009, but I don't think I will get accepted, because last year I was rejected. =[ I already applied, and sent out my Montclair transcript, now I am waiting upon a reply from Rutgers.

... but in the meanwhile what are my chances of getting in?

I went to a private high school and my GPA was an 81 [they did not do GPA on a 4.0 scale]
My SAT scores - [Math-600], [Writing-520], [Reading-420]
My 1st semester GPA from Montclair was a 3.0

I know my high school GPA and SAT scores are low, but I talked to a Rutgers Professor a couple of days ago, and he said that if you have a 3.0 GPA from a community college that you are guaranteed admission. I go to a university, so i don't know if that helps ...
I also know another girl who went to Montclair and transfered out/was accepted to Rutgers Newark, and she had a 2.7 GPA from Montclair.
Facts like these give me hope - but very little.

I just want other peoples opinions on if I will or will not be accepted to Rutgers
--OR--
if anyone has been in the same kind of situation as me and has made it, or knows of anyone.

Thank You All =]

How many credits in your first semester?

i transferred into RU new brunswick in fall 08. based on the info you gave, i think you should make it. in general its easier for transfers to make it, as long as you took around 15 credits to show that youre a serious student.

i took 16 credits .. btw thanks wariofan .. you made me feel a whole lot better about getting in

haha i got to montclair right now too! transferring out though, i cant stand MSU sometimes :( -- i think you got a shot, 3.0 isnt bad. whats your major? whats your EC's look like? and hows your essay?

im undecided right now, and yea i cant stand MSU either.
I was in 4 clubs during high school, plus i did 100+ hours of volunteer work.
at MSU, im in 1 club.
