Transfer Acceptances for FALL 2011!

@lulupatoog haha no, not jut yet. None of us received a rejection email, so It’s possible we can still receive one on Monday or any time next week. I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Fingers Crossed.

I’m thinking mine will be here any day now… cause I still can’t log in to the paydeposit site… but about a week ago they told me they hadn’t even looked at my application yet…??? Seems a little ridiculous, considering it’s been complete for over two months and we are now in the month of April…

I was accepted as a Binghamton transfer a few weeks ago and I can’t wait to be there next semester! I’m accepted as a Harpur psych major and pre-health student. Thanks for posting the facebook group!

@kaitlyngirl: are you a freshman or transfer app. Transfer application deadline was on March 1st. I know that many schools only look at applications after the deadline. I submitted mine February 29th. Yeah so I would give them another month. I only applied to one nursing program, Binghamton, so I am anxious as well. I have a 3.4 gpa. My friend got into stony brook with a 3.4 gpa, but she already has a Bachelor degree. So I am pretty hopeful :)

@scritz, I am a transfer applicant… I applied to 3 other nursing programs, but only one of them a SUNY (Plattsburgh). Binghamton is my top though, so I’m really counting on it  I submitted my application in January but it took them forever to get my transcripts, so my application was complete February 16. I have a 3.5 GPA and all of the pre-requisites done/in progress now, so I REALLLLLY hope they accept me because it’s the perfect program for me! HAHA I think we are both in really great shape, hopefully the admissions committee sees it too!! Good luck & let me know when you hear something!

Does anyone know the latest date that Bing will notify for transfers if you got accepted or rejected?

So I gained some info from [2011-2012 BAT - Decker School SUNY Binghamton hopefuls (515561) - Page 8- Nursing for Nurses](<a href=“2011-2012 BAT - Decker School SUNY Binghamton hopefuls - Page 8 - New York Nursing”>2011-2012 BAT - Decker School SUNY Binghamton hopefuls - Page 8 - New York Nursing) and it turns out that they accept freshmen first, freshmen fill up about 60 seats and there are 90 seats available. And basically those seats are up for grabs at any time. If things do not work out for me this year and next year, I’m gonna pay 100,000 for two years at The University of Miami. I can’t wait around hoping to be accepted into a nursing program, I just can’t. I’d rather pay major cash to make good money than sit on my ass and make a lousy yearly income.

:( I was hoping you’d say you were accepted, but I hear ya… I still haven’t heard anything either… I’m probably also going to end up paying about 100k for two years elsewhere, because I can’t see anything good coming out of this at this point :/

Ah kairlyngrl I am sorry you haven’t heard back yet. Was actually just dropping by to see if you heard back or not. I would highly advise if you haven’t already to follow up with them and send a letter of interest as it can’t hurt, and for the right person might make the difference. Nursing is competitive everywhere so don’t let it get you down… just have to keep trucking. If its of any consequence, spring is ALWAYS easier to get into as a transfer if fall doesn’t work out.

Ugh yeah I’ve called them on a weekly basis, they always tell me I’ll “know soon”… I sent them an email the other night asking if I can fax a midterm report to show them that I am continuing to do well and to let them know that Bing is my first choice and I’ll 100% go if I get accepted… and they didn’t email back :(

Best of luck Kaitlyn. We’re rooting for you. Just as a note, don’t send the midterm report unless they specifically as for it. They make it a point to mention that. I sent one last spring when I applied and even though it showed good grades, I’m sure it didn’t help because they hadn’t asked for it.

Keep us updated

Well when I called a few weeks ago they told me I could send one if my current semester GPA was higher than my cumulative… They said it wouldn’t hurt but that any extra materials you send might not even be looked at

I called and was told transfers don’t find out until may 1st

I called and was told we’d find out April 1st… then April 1st passed and I called and was told we’d find out on a rolling basis… so I don’t really trust anything they tell me. lol

Just got accepted !!

is their decision before may 1 or after may 1

I called to check on my status, and the lady told me I had been denied (cool face)… time for plan B, which I haven’t even figured out yet. I actually only applied to one nursing program, so next time I will plan better and apply to more than one. Good luck to everyone and @kaitlyngrl I’m rooting for you.

just got my acceptance, although not sure ill be attending…anyone have opinions on which housing they like best?

I was recently accepted into Harpur. Has anyone received their credit evaluations yet? When are we supposed to find out?

Also, are transfers normally eligible for any scholarships or merit aid? Has anyone been offered any financial aid besides TAP and PELL? It seems I’ll have to pay around 10k out of pocket and I’m not sure I would be able to afford that.

Scritz… sorry to hear. I was denied also. :[
