3.0 - AA Transfer from FGCU to UCF Summer’10
Finance Major

No SATs needed for AAs? What about <60 credits transfers?

From what I’ve heard you only need SATs if youre coming in with less than 60 credits. if you have your AA then just your transcripts are needed.

I sent in both my SAT’s and my ACT’s
1100 and 24 (both taken 3 years ago)
I’m sure they wont be considered in the decision making process but I wanted to make sure they had ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING because I needed an answer soon.

3.0 - AA Transfer from FGCU to UCF Summer’10

Finance Major

WHat grade are you in!?!?

This is probably exactly what ill do if I dont get accepted to UCF.

If i get rejected ill go to FGCU and major in finance. Then I’ll try to transfer.

And how is FGCU

Im a second semester sophomore, graduating with my AA end of this spring semester. FGCU is fun, very clean and a nice atmosphere…I just want to experience more of the bigger school feeling, and feel that UCF is where i need to be for that and my major.

can you transfer into any college with an aa?

If you get an AA from a community college in Florida and do well, your chances are much higher than a high school graduate to be admitted into a Florida University . HOWEVER, the way Universities get around this is by having transfer admission on a space available basis. So if you’re a bad CC student, they are able to say there is not enough room try again next semester. My advice: Don’t slack off in CC.

You don’t want to go to FGCU. Their programs are a joke. I had at least 5 friends (whom are all good students) leave FGCU to come to the community college near their high school. You’re paying more for an education you can get at a community college. The area has nothing to offer and the only students I have seen stay in that school are ones who are going to college to get away from home and not to go for a good education. I have an engineering major friend of mine and he left after the first semester. He says the professors and classes were a joke.

I had my dorm applied for, my classes chosen, and after seeing the campus, staff and student body at orientation I dropped it all. It was the best decision of my life. Not to mention a whole lot cheaper of a decision.

Congratulations! You have been offered admission to UCF for the Summer 2010 term. Your acceptance is contingent upon earning an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida public community college or earning 60 transferable semester hours of credit with at least a 2.5 gpa from the last institution attended, as well as overall, two college level courses in both math and english with a grade of ‘C’ or better in each and successful completion of two consecutive years of the same foreign language in high school or eight semester hours of the same foreign language in college.
You may now register for orientation at [UCF First Year Experience - (407) 823-5105](http://www.orientation.ucf.edu)
We look forward to you joining us at UCF

Thanks.

^^^^
Nice, how long does it take to get an AA?

Im just going to go to FGCU but I want to transfer as soon as I can.

And what was wrong with the people at the campus?

LUCKYYYYYYYYYY
I cant finish my physics 1 and calc 2 till the summer and then I’m going to ucf in the fall. I figure its probably better to take those classes in community college. Although I could just take them at UCF but…idk. What do you guys think? If I’m accepted for fall can I call and get acceptance for summer?

Applied night of Feb 5th.
And just got the good news today.
So excited!

i think i’ve been deferred. I couldn’t believe it. I guess 3.8 GPA and 3.9 in Pre-Med courses at University of Connecticut, 1320 SAT, isn’t good enough for now. Is UCF even good for Pre-Med as compared to UF, FSU, or USF?

Did you take my advice and call them?

yep, the lady said she would talk to the admissions department and e-mail me this week…no news yet lol

They just opened up a new medical school so I’m almost certain that they would be jumping at applicants with good GPA’s to fill the programs. Keep calling, there’s no way that can be correct. I’d tell you to show up and talk to them yourself but if i’m not mistaken, you’re in another state.

I just visited there cause its only a 3.5 hr drive to get there. They said they’re not looking at Fall Transfer Applicants next month and also stated that they have hardly ever rejected students coming in with an AA from a community college before. This makes me feel anxious that I have to wait another month but at least I know my chances are almost high, if not 100%.

^ That’s awesome thanks for your post.

Does anyone status says something like this?

‘An initial official transcript has been received. Please request that a final transcript be sent after completion of all courses completed prior to entering UCF to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, P. O. Box 160111, Orlando, FL 32816-0111, when available.’

So I won’t be accepted till I complete ALL MY COURSES? I have to take summer classes and that won’t end till August 6th. Please can someone clarify this. :)

yeah, i have that status for both of my transcripts (i have attended UConn for the last two years, and go to FAU over the summer). because of this, my status is deferred. I would suggest calling them tomorrow and finding out what the deal is.
