transfer admission chances

i went to palo alto junior college for dual credit during my jr and sr years in high school and graduated with 24 college credit hours and became a part of phi theta kappa int'l honor society. now i go to st. john's university and now have 39 hours and at the end of this semester i will 54 credit hours. i have a 3.58 gpa, i volunteer at the salvation army and the campus church, and have 4 ec's. do you think i have a chance of getting into a&m as a transfer into the liberal arts school for history? i already submitted my app, but only did the 1 required essay, i think it was pretty good though ... opinions please! :)

does your 3.58 gpa include your dual credit high school hours?

no. my dual credit gpa at Palo Alto was a 3.8. my gpa here at St. John’s is a 3.58

does anyone else have any opinions? they would be greatly appreciated!

typical questions…
what major are you wanting to transfer into?
you gpa is good enough for most majors - I was hoping you didn’t include your dual credits in your gpa - because they don’t count them…
At first glance, you look good - but you need to tell us what cours
es you have taken because it will matter as to what major you want to transfer into.
If I was trying to transfer - I would have done all essays - but that is just me.

**** I’m sorry - I now see you want History in the college of Liberal Arts. I’m gonna say you have an excellent chance!

i looked at tables 1 and 2 and most of the courses that i have and are currently taken transfer… i really appreciate your input, thank you!

the kicker is - some majors want you to have certain courses before the accept you as a transfer. That is the reason for my question.
not only do the courses you have taken need to transfer - but do you have the courses that A&M wants you to have to transfer. I know a guy who wants to transfer, he is now taking biology & chemistry & calculus and two other courses within his major at a University (in the A&M system) so he will have all the courses A&M wants to be accepted. He has a very tough course load.
transferring isn’t as easy as some think!

I need opinions on whether I have a chance being accepted as a transfer student to Texas A&M - Fall 2010 - I have applied to the College of Engineering - majoring in Mechanical Engineering - My current GPA is 3.6 with 38 credits completed. I will have a total of 52 credits at the end of the Spring semester. I have numerous extracurricular activities listed, hours of volunteer work and hold down a part-time job while going to school full-time. Also, I completed both essays on my application. I am worried because I do not have my Physics started and I am currently enrolled in Calculus I. My grades have been very good and I received the Distinguished Student honor my first semester.

I think you need to have finished both Engineering calculus 151 & 152

How does a transfer applicant change their requested major? My AIS no longer has a link to request a change of major.

I guess I’d make the call to the admissions office
