Transfer admission decisions

Hi guys,
Through hearsay I heard that someone from my college was accepted to Columbia and, apparently, found out just recently. I don't know if he applied as a transfer or freshman, but I believe it's transfer. The admission decisions come out in May, don't they? Can anyone shed light on this? I applied as a transfer student, and I'm afraid this might mean I was rejected since it's taking so long??

My friend who applied transfer hasn’t heard back either. Don’t worry about it :)

What college are you applying from?

chill! it doesn’t mean you’re rejected. we should find out some time this week. good luck!

Everyone’s been saying Columbia isn’t giving out transfer decisions until mid-May…

When I called last week they had said no decisions had been released and probably won’t be until mid May, like May 14th.

Please post here or on the transfer Columbia thread if you hear of any news though = ]

On the application page, it says:

Thank you for your transfer application to Columbia University. We are nearing the end of our evaluations and will soon notify candidates of our decisions. We plan to post all decisions on Friday, May 14, 2010, after 5:00pm (Eastern Time).

So it looks like it’s going to be the 14th after all. Good luck, everyone.

I just got this email(edited name out):

Student
Application PIN Number: XXXXXXXXX
Columbia ID: C00XXXXXXX

Dear Student,

Thank you for your application to Columbia University. We are nearing the end of our evaluations and will soon notify candidates of our decisions.

The Columbia community is committed to environmental responsibility; in keeping with this commitment, we will provide some admissions decisions only online, not via regular mail. We plan to post all decisions on Friday, May 14, 2010, after 5:00pm (Eastern Time). Please click here to receive your decision.

You will need both the PIN and password you created when you submitted your online application in order to view your decision online. Your PIN is at the top of this e-mail. If you have lost or forgotten your password, please click here to receive your password via e-mail.

If you would like to withdraw from consideration entirely, please inform us of that choice as soon as possible by replying to this e-mail at ugrad-confirm@columbia.edu. Be sure that your full name and Columbia Application ID appear in the response.

I’m guessing they’re only using paper mail for the students they are accepting. I hope this email isn’t bad luck. Good luck to everyone!
