Transfer/ admission question

I’m currently a freshman at ivy tech and was planning to apply to transfer to Iu this fall. IU has a rule that if you have at least 26 credits you only have to submit your college transcript with your application. My high school grades were horrible so are my test scores so my ivy tech grades are my only chance. After a mixup of what courses transfer I found out that I’ll be 1 credit short with 25 credits when I apply to transfer from ivy tech.
anyone know if theres a way I can take a class at ivy tech over the summer and have Iu accept that as the rest of the credits that I need? After all they’ll be able to see I’m registered for it on my transcript but I’m worried that since I won’t have the credit before I apply they won’t accept it. The deadline to apply for transfer is June 1st. Other option is waiting till spring just because of this one credit and I’m willing to do that because that’s how bad I want do go but it’s just frustrating. I was even thinking of applying to ISU but I’d much rather go to Iu. And before anyone says anything, I did call the admission office and the lady didn’t sound like she knew was she was taking about and just said to take a class over the summer and let the council decide, but I’d like some other opinions. Any help would be great

What’s your intended major?

I talked to a mom last night who had an admissions issue with her incoming freshman and she had spoken with a student advocate at IU to help resolve it. Maybe try to contact that office?

Also, if you were my kid I’d tell you to register for the summer class, apply for admission, and make a note of your situation somewhere on the app. They may conditionally accept you based on summer class, but it should be fine. And if it’s not? Not a terrible plan to wait until spring. Depending on your major, spring may be preferable to defaulting to ISU, in my opinion.
