does W&M have preferential policy to in-state students' when it comes to transfer admission?

First off, where are you transferring from?

I’m assuming another four year. And for that, I don’t know.

But if you’re a CC student, you have guaranteed admission if you have a 3.6 GPA or higher (and certain courses taken).

W&M always gives deference to Virginia residents. With transfer admission, the applicant pool and enrolling cohort are much smaller so we don’t have to strictly adhere to 65% in-state as is done with freshmen applicants but we always give deference to VA residents. And this is your residency, not the location of the place from which you’re transferring.

If you attend a VCCS campus or Richard Bland, there are guaranteed admission agreements which are lengthy and complicated but they are posted on-line so you can see if you’re eligible
