Transfer Admission Statistics, etc

I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of how selective Brown is when it comes to transfer admissions.

Their website says that they typically accept 200 of 800 applicants per year, but that just seems so high.

Does anyone know the transfer admission statistics for the past few years, or have any speculations as to what the outcome may be this year?

And on a slightly different note, does anyone know if Brown requests midsemester reports for transfer applicants?

From the Brown Daily Herald 9/7/06:

"Only 22 new transfer students entered Brown this fall, down from 145 last year. These 22 students, selected from the largest ever transfer applicant pool, represent an acceptance rate of between 5 and 6 percent, meaning that it was "much harder to get in as a transfer than it was as a freshman," according to Dean of Admission Jim Miller '73."

Pretty daunting odds......but worth a shot!

Does anybody know if Brown over-enrolled its freshman class last year?

Transfer stats are always a little scattered due to varied attrition numbers, yield (biggest factor), housing availability, and other institutional needs.
