Transfer admission without all pre-reqs?

I am trying very hard to get accepted into a UC-system school. My top 2 schools are Cal and UCLA. Here is the story: I transferred to a California community college this year (my soph. year) from a school in Texas. Before I transferred I made sure my community college accepted all my credits from my school in TX, which they did. The only problem was that in high school I had taken the AP chemistry test and gotten a 4 which in tx had given me credit for General chemistry 1/2.
Problem: when I moved to california they didn't accept my AP score so i had to RESTART chemistry from the very beginning. for this reason I did not have room in my schedule to take Organic chemistry

I applied to Cal and UCLA as a biochemistry major. One of the major pre-requisites they "STRONGLY RECOMMEND" is 2 semesters of organic chemistry. I explained my situation to both schools in the "additional comments" sections of each application, but I'm still freaking out. Is is possible I'll get admitted or is it a long shot? Any advice helps!

Depends if the major is impacted or not.

if your GPA is well above average, you will get in.
since your major is biochem, if your GPA is 3.75+, you have a high chance.
it is just my 2 cents.
