Greetings fellow applicants! Any prospective transfers for fall admission?

I applied as a transfer for the fall!

Me me me!
I’m glad another transfer decision thread started. I’m 3.3 at University of Arizona hoping to transfer to Smith for Economics & cognitive neuroscience. 1880 SAT and volunteer for the DRC at my school. Best of luck to everyone.

I’m 3.72 from a CC in CA, hoping to transfer as Geosciences & Environmental Science & Policy. I chose not to submit my SAT. Best of luck as well. I’m interested to see how transfer admission ends up playing out; frosh admission seemed to be quite random in some cases.

^ My mother’s friend’s daughter got acceptance to Smith for transfer admissions with similar stats. I say that you have a great chance–good luck! (:

i’m applying to transfer from georgetown :)

About 20 more days until we all find out. The anticipation is killing me. Anyone know what house they want to live in yet?
Haha I’m such a wishful thinker.

gtown-- curious as to why you are transferring from Georgetown.

@gtown14–I transferred to Smith from Georgetown last January as a first year! It’s really nice to find someone else looking to do the same thing. It was absolutely the best decision I could have made. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to ask me. I’d love to talk about it with someone else who has gone through something so similar.

To everyone else: good luck with transferring! I love Smith so much. Being here is such an amazing thing. If you have any questions about Smith or the process of transferring I can try to answer them as best as I can!

@DesiCollegeGal: Thank you for boosting my spirits! I appreciate your input :)

@Alyssaar: The anticipation is killing me too! I’m sitting here in CA twiddling my thumbs all by myself. Where did you find the 20 days figure? I hope that’s the case!!!

@vegancookies
I’m twiddling my thumbs and stalking the Smith website. I could probably answer any trivia question about the school. I’m so obsessed!
I called the admissions office to ask them when decisions were mailed. They said March 26th or 27th. I hope they’ll be on bannerweb too.

I’m applying as a transfer from college of charleston. I am so nervous to hear the decisions, but I don’t think they will be on bannerweb. In past years I think they called those who were accepted but we’ll see.

Any of you guys get an alumnae interview? I hope mine went well… Some parts seemed kind of iffy.
OOOO! Phone call admission decision? I’m going to die if I get a call from a MA area code.

I just wanted to pop in and say good luck to all of you! I transferred to Smith in the Fall and I absolutely LOVE it!! Please feel free to PM me with any questions you have, as I am always more than happy to answer questions from prospective transfer students!

Word on the street is RD notifications come out Friday. Anyone know what that means for us transfers? Or are we still thinking Monday/Tuesday? And really, a phone call?

All of this transfer talk is making me so nervous! I’m coming from a CC in NY. I started at a SUNY–does anyone know if my grades from SUNY will count towards my GPA from the CC? And then will those carry into whatever college I transfer to? Or is it like once I transfer my GPA just goes off of wherever I’m coming from…?

Anyway, I have a 3.8, planning to major in Psychology and then go on to graduate school. To be honest, I wasn’t thrilled with Smith when I visited (I went to Mount Holyoke right after and loved it). It seemed too quiet. Thoughts?

I applied as a non trad for fall 2012. THe suspense is killing me… it’s so exciting, but I’m on pins and needles. I should be asleep, but instead, i finally logged on instead of lurking.

I called the admissions office, they said that first round transfer decisions will be online after 6 PM on Tuesday the 27th.

Oh really??? Does that include the Ada Comstocks??? I’m hoping for an earlier, more instant reveal process!

I’m not 100 % sure about Adas, but my guess would be that transfers and Adas find out at the same time - I think the two tend to get grouped together, like, “first year” and “other” :P
