hey guys, I just applied to transfer from VCU to GMU for next fall and I’m currently a sophmore. Before I attended VCU I did my freshman year at Temple University but had to transfer back in state last minute at the beginning of my sophomore year because I lost my scholarship due to a poor first semester as a nursing major (no longer a nursing major after that haha)
Im concerned about my application because Ive gone to two different schools in two years (which was somewhat out of my control but Im assuming doesnt look good?)
At temple I got a 1.6 GPA as a nursing major my first semester, then switched to Economics and got a 3.17. Now at VCU my 3rd semester I got a 3.33 GPA. Will this be high enough to transfer despite my poor first semester grades? Do i have to send both transcripts or should i just send my VCU one which has my previously transferred classes listedI really like GMUs PPE concentration in Econ and I’d really like to get in.
Thanks!
I would send all transcripts. If they see you attended another college on your VCU transcript they may mark your application as incomplete and never give you a decision. Why chance it? I’m not sure of your chances but you’ve definitely turned things around so that will def help. Do you think your “optional” essay was strong? Good luck!
I’ll try and get my second transcript sent thanks! And I used my essay to explain my unique academic situation, hoping they’ll be understanding!
@collegegal01 Did you get your decision yet??
Nope, called and asked and they said to wait another month, kinda frustrated because its taken over three months @GMUHopeful
