transfer admit rate

it says on these web pages : MIT Admissions | Blog Entry: "Transfer Wrap-Up 2008" and Second Time?s the Charm For Students Looking to Fulfill Their MIT Dream - The Tech
that the admit rates for transfer students is approximately 6-7%. whereas for freshman admission as an international undergrad, the admit rate is around 2-3%.

does this signify that getting in through transfer is actually easier than getting in through freshman for an international student?

also, if i am an international student studying in a US university, will i be considered international or domestic?

many thanks

I’m pretty sure that unless you get a green card, you will be considered international.

The 6-7% is for all applicants, not just internationals. It is easier to get in first time around then relying on a transfer admission.
