Transfer advice needed

So basically I am currently at community college and want to transfer next semester. I have already been accepted into Eastern Connecticut State University and waiting on UConn. They asked for my midterm grades and I submitted them about two weeks ago. A lady from UConn at our college fair at school said I should hear back in a week. Its been a week and I decided to call admissions and they said it will take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to hear back. 6 weeks is a long ways away and I want to transfer out. With that being said I decided to give UConn another week to hear back and then I will submit my deposit to Eastern.

My parents are concerned though because they know UConn is my first choice. I was thinking though I could go to Eastern and apply to UConn for the next fall and possibly some other schools. My question is would it look bad to colleges that I am transferring a lot and could hinder my chances of admissions?

ps. I have spent a year and a half at my community college

Is there a deadline for your deposit to Eastern? If not, you could wait to deposit until you hear from UConn.

If you are afraid to wait and don’t mind losing the deposit, I would submit the deposit, but then let Eastern know you have changed your mind if you do get the UConn acceptance. Sometimes they will refund your deposit, sometimes not.

I don’t consider this to be inappropriate in these transfer situations… the different schools have such different schedules for providing admissions answers… it’s not like Freshman admissions when most schools are on a similar decision/commit by deposit schedule.
