Transfer Advice Por Favor

<p>Hello everybody I have a question regarding my transfer app and essay. So I currently attend a pretty good school in the northeast top 20 undergraduate business school, in which I am enrolled I am looking to transfer for sophomore admission. MY goal is to transfer to UVA CAS and then apply to mcintire, UT austin mccombs, or UNC Chapel Hill. UVA is by far my first choice and I am instate. </p>

<p>MY question is how should I approach my common app why transfer essay to UVA. It is the only common app one I have to do so should I be specific? I am not happy at my current institution, but the bus. school is pretty good although all the three of my transfer schools are better. MY reasons for transfer are more diversity, more academic options and social options (there is no club golf at my university), and I don't like the people here I just don't feel like I can fit in. </p>

<p>Can somebody offer advice knowing my situation. I don't know if these are valid reasons for transfer and how I can address my academic need for transfer, should I just state these schools can help me more (better recruiting, career services, and programs).</p>

<p>Although your personal statement is an important part of your application, your grades and SAT scores(for some school) are the ones that will be looked at the most. You can certainly address the more diverse and academic opportunity at the school you are applying to in your essay.</p>

<p>thanks i know its not part of my question, but based on my stats it may help to see if I will need stellar essays. I got a 3.67 my first semester. 17 credits. 3.8 in high school and 1980 SAT and 29 ACT. So within range. Still looking for advice on how to approach the essay I’m kind of lost</p>

<p>Just be as honest as possible on the essay and explain to them why you would like to transfer. Don’t worry, I think you have a good chance with that GPA</p>

Just write this up with specifics (what kind of diversity, which options). Leave out the part about not liking the people; that makes you look antisocial.</p>
