Transfer advice: Where should I apply?

I had a 3.1 in high school. No AP classes, and a just a few honors. A few extracurricular activities. I went to a public high school. I am currently going into my second semester at a college with an Average 3.5 GPA for acceptance (Says on website they have students that vary from 3.0-3.8), 56% acceptance rate, and the following average test scores:

SAT Test Scores *
Critical Reading: 490-590
Math: 490-580
Writing: 500-600
ACT Composite Scores *
21-26

(I received a 21 on the ACT's and am going to take them over this February)

During my first year here, I have decided that I want to transfer. I currently have a 3.668 GPA, and I am feeling like the class rigor is not as challenging as it should be. I am the first to admit I did not try in high school, so now with my head correctly placed on my shoulders, I would like to go to a better school, one with a better name. I am most likely going to major in Communications. I live in the Boston area, and am thinking of focusing on schools around there but am open to opportunities in other states far away as well. I am not sure where I fit in; basically what are schools I have a chance at, and some reaches?

Thank you for the help.

You might want to try the transfer forum for some advice. What can your family afford?

Where do I find the transfer forum??

And as of now the money situation isn’t the biggest issue just finding where I fit in the range of acceptance to schools and which schools those are is my main concern. As of now I’ve been looking at schools in the 40% freshman acceptance rate. Not sure if this is correct

Go back to the CC forum main page http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/</a> and do a search for transfer.
