Transfer advice!

Question: Is it better to submit an earlier application when you don't have all of your grades completed, or to wait until closer to the app deadline when you will have more/better information to submit?

More info:
I'm looking to transfer into COE for spring 2012. I was a little late in realizing that edu was the major that I wanted so I'm taking all 3 pre-reqs this summer. One ends July 3rd, the other July 31st, the last August 26th. I'm doing very well in all of the classes and know I can get A's in all three. My current GPA is a 3.62 (not that great) but will be a 3.7 after these three classes if I make all A's. I'm finishing my Associate's at Santa Fe in the fall. Also, they require a teaching exam (GKE) to be taken for admission. I'm not taking that until July 9th, so the scores will most likely be back early August. An advisor I spoke with told me to just send my application in after I'd registered for the summer & fall classes--the earlier the better. But if I send it it now, I won't have any grades in my pre-reqs and I won't have my scores to send in. If I wait until the end of August, I can send in everything at the same time, BUT then I'm competing with a million freshman. Help???

If you’re transferring with your AA you won’t get lumped up with all the freshmen students. You deal only with your college for the majority.

I applied in December of last year, and no one in my major heard back until late march / april. I would apply as soon as possible, with all the classes you plan on taking, and submit updated transcripts when available. Also, I would call and speak with the advisors in your college who will be looking at your application and ask them. If they can match a person with the application, your chances will be better.

At any rate, I had a 3.52 gpa (straight a’s after a 1.4 gpa), and got in. They only really looked at the grades in my critical tracking courses. With a 3.62 - 3.7, i’m sure you’ll get in no problems.
