Transfer advice.

Hello,
I'm currently a student at West Virginia University and have been thinking of possibly transferring out. The only other choice I would really have is the University of Maryland due to finances (I would get in state at UMD). The only problem is that I'm heavily interested in the International Studies program WVU has. UMD does not have this major. However they have Anthropology which seems like another big interest of mine. My question would be: Should I abandon WVU(I just can't seem to click with the students here) and go apply to the more prestigious program in UMD, even though they do not have my first choice of major? Anyone who knows anything about the two schools would be a big help! Thanks!

If you’re a first-semester freshman, it’s way too early to conclude that you don’t click with the students at a school as big as WVU. Is that the only reason you want to transfer?

Academic reputation as well, though not to the same degree. I enjoy the professors and classes here, however, the students don’t seem to care as much about education.
