<p>I am currently attending my first semester at BYU-I university. I want to end up at UW or UCLA. BYU-I is not a very prestigious school and its not anywhere near seattle. I want to know if i should move back to seattle and go to a community college near UW. Are my chances better at a seattle community college then at a mediocre out of state university?</p>
<p>From what I know, your chances at getting into UW are much better from a CC in Seattle. My son got waitlisted there and then they didn't end up accepting anyone from the waitlist. We are OOS and we were told that the CC kids get first preference there.</p>
<p>i dont know much abt BYU-I, but ive heard that for the UCs, u shouldnt be put off by how not that many ppl get into the UCs from OOS, somebody from berkeley said that the low numbers r b/c not that many ppl apply from OOS...im going to a fairly prestigious uni and im out of state and am thinking of going to UCB in the future.
so i dont think u should be put off by this and suddenly transfer to CC, u should ask an admissions counselor at both schools and see what they say...</p>
<p>well if i transfer to a cc, would it have to be a cc directly in seattle, or can it be a cc in the surrounding area?</p>
