I currently got rejected from UF and i completly understood with my grades and all. I got a 1580 on total of 3 overall with a gpa of like an 85-86 with all hard classes including honors and ap. I had a medical problem junior year which prevented me from reaching my potential. But i started doing good in high school getting straight a's in ap and honor classes. I want to transfer to UF cuz its my number 1 choice still and i plan on doing it after 2 years. I am going to attend Bryant University majoring in accounting and minoring in law. How can i make sure that i get accepted to UF in my junior year

Get excellent grades…and make sure you have the pre-reqs for your major…they accept transfer students by major, and they do not accept transfers who do not have the required lower level pre-reqs for the major.

careful. accounting at this moment I THINK only able to come from florida CC + AA

^ yea… you may want to check the requirements for accounting transfers. UF business wants comm college transfers who have meet everything.

wut if i was interested in doing law

then your major isn’t very important. pick whatever you think you have the best chance of getting the best grades in.

CC transfers get preferential admission, just keep that in mind. I have no clue what Bryant University is but it sounds private just by the name.

Yes bryant is a private school and of os a business school it is well known in the northeast

attend a Florida community college and save money.

Plus, as stated previously, preference is given to CC transfers in Florida.

Fall 2009 was the most competitive for transfers. It’s not magically going to turn around.

see the problem is my parents and fam live in the northeast so its going to be hard to go to school there

you would move to Florida to attend UF, right?
why wouldn’t you move to Florida and attend Santa Fe CC?

but yea, accounting doesnt look like its changing its rules, onyl florida CC allowed

the reason why i would go to uf is that i have a cousin whose going there and her family lives near there. If im interested in doing law do they prefer cc’s for law students or is that just for accounting

law isnt a major so yes, anything in CLAS would suffice.

ya i know theres no major for law sorry my bad what do u mean class would suffice and what about the cc’s for UF. If i’m an outside student trying to do law would i get in if i get above a 3.5

CLAS , college liberal arts and science.
or any other college actually.
(not sure what major law students do…forestry ?)

i would assume that less popular majors have higher admission rates, since after all you are applying to not only UF but a college within UF.

yes it is feasible if you both your gpa and pre-prof gpa are 3.5 and above…again depending on the major.

so you would say that i would have a better chance of getting admitted into the college of liberal arts and science than accounting if i get above a 3.5 in my two years of schoolwork. NOw i have another question. I am definently leaving bryant after my first year because of the fees and i’ll probably go to a public school in the fall of 2010 now idk if the gpa transfers or not or the coursework will transfer or not but would you think that there would be a problem with that? If there is i could possible take summer classes in the summer at a community college nearby.

yes higher chance of getting in CLAS than accounting, but still CLAS is a highly populated college that receives the MAJORITY of applications…so it is not the easiest to get into.

as for your new question, I cant be sure since when i transferred, all my credits came from 1 place. ;[

But if i had to assume, i would just think that sending both transcripts to UF…they would add up to the total # of credits and go from that, and it would only be an issue of being able to get into required courses at that school in the meantime.

(just make sure that you complete every single one of the pre-req courses for w/e major you choose)
https://www.isis.ufl.edu/cgi-bin/nirvana?MDASTRAN=RSI-ETMEN

and if you get to choose which college you attend in the meantime…see if you can get one that matches the course number system of UF.

i have another question. I will contact UF when i get a chance this week but are we allowed to minor in anything at UF

yes you can, but if you are in CLAS though they are really really strict on graduating in 2 years…and also you cannot change major within CLAS. (not all colleges have this rule…CLAS has a very large amount of students so they dont mess around ^^)

I was admitted to a major in CLAS and changed major to college of engineering.
