I'm applying to transfer this Fall, and Penn is one of my few schools that actually requires a Mid-Year Report.

This worries me because I currently have a 4.0 GPA in my current college, but I'm taking harder classes this semester so I feel like my grades will drop. Furthermore, I tend to do better during the second half of a semester (i.e. after mid-terms), so the Mid-Term report might not accurately reflect my academic ability. What scares me the most is that one of my classes is notoriously difficult -- so much that the professor HEAVILY curves by the end of the semester. Only problem is, that curve only appears at the END (or so I think). What if she refuses to curve as I'm filling out my Mid-Term report and my grade is egregiously bad? How much do they even weigh the Mid-Term report compared to the 1st semester grades?
