I started off college as a freshmen at a small, yet very good academically, liberal arts school. I then transfered and now I am a sophomore at UW-Madison. I am thinking about possibly transferring next year (again) to a school (NYU, UPenn, etc) that is more of a target for bulge bracket investment banking firms because I really want to be a trader at a BB in NY. Is transferring twice a bad idea? Also, will these two transfers look poorly on my resume? Thanks for your help.

anyone? i just want to know if two transfers is a bad idea?

i transferred three times.

i don't think it will necessarily look poor on your resume if you're moving up. for example, i don't think it would look too good if you were transferring from nyu-stern to uw-madison, but the other way around would look fine.

You do realize you do not even have to list the other schools. You can just list the school your degree is from.

No one REALLY cares how many schools you attended. I attended a total of 5 and plan on the sixth one in the fall. I have an internships in a top company, my schools have prevented me from nothing. Its not about what school you go to really as much as what you know.

and who you know

I did not know that you did not have to list all of your schools on your resume. Thanks for the advice.

i think all that matters is where you get the diploma.
just curious, what is the school you transferred from?

I started at Wisconsin Lutheran College and I am now at UW

thanks for the advice, i might be doing the same soon
