transfer and SAT consideration question

HI, I will be applying for transfer for fall 2009. I will have around 100 college credits completed at a PA state school with a high GPA. I went 3 yrs to this school but changed majors so many times and now i need to transfer. I will be going 2 more years to the school i transfer to. The problem is that i did terrrrible on my sats, a 1050. I know its really bad, do you think schools like maryland, nova, bc, uva, gtown.... etc will weight this heavily even with a high gpa and 100college credits completed? It is required that i submit them at all of these schools...thanks for all your help

They will most likely not look at your high school SAT.

I imagine they will look at them, since they require them. But I don’t think they will weigh heavily. All you can do is try. Make sure your essays are strong and get the best recs you can get.

I hate to suggest spending the time on re-taking, but that may be a possibility for you to consider. You might call one or more of the schools and speak to a transfer admissions counselor to see (1) whether they consider re-takes in college and (2) whether they think it’s worth it in a case like yours.

Good luck.

from what I heard, most colleges do not look at transfer students’ SAT score. it’s usually based on your college GPA and workload. Hope this helps.
