Transfer Applicant Pool vs. Freshman Applicant Pool

Is the transfer applicant pool more competitive or less competitive than the freshman applicant pool.

It really depends on the school and your situation... (e.g. UNC-CH is much easier out of state as a transfer than a freshman, Cornell accepts higher % of transfers than freshman) and then there's the other end of the spectrum (e.g. MIT accepted 5 transfers, Harvard accepts under 10%, etc.) So I guess the answer to your question is - it all depends on the school.

I'm not talking about acceptance rates, I'm talking about the quality of the applicant pool.

yeah the acceptance rates at some schools are lower, but in general when it comes to things like SAT scores and HS GPA the stats are lower. at schools like harvard the people that get accepted generally have over a 3.85 GPA, and the recs are usually VG

It completely 100% depends on the school
