Transfer applicant pool

Hey everyone!
I just wanted to ask a question and also get everyone's background on where they came from before they transfer, or plan to transfer to UT!
My question to everyone is: do you think it matters more if you Transfer from a University or a CC with the same credentials?
Opinions, facts, whatever, join the conversation. I wanna see where everyone came from and what you all think matters more.
THANKS!

Hello, @ssppiikkeerr
I’m transferring from NVC (a CC from San Antonio)
GPA is a 3.7 currently, expected to have a 3.6 at the end of this current semester.
Member of Phi Theta Kappa (CC honor society)
2 Letters of recommendation
Full resume with all of the ECs I did in High School.
Strongish essays… I don’t really know honestly. I thought they were good, but i don’t know how hard the admissions will be on them.
And I work full time.

I’ve read the past the past 4 transfer semester threads. (Fall 2012, Spring 2013, Fall 2013, and Spring 2014). It doesn’t seem to matter much where you’re transferring from just as long as your GPA is strong, good essays, some ECs, a couple letters of recommendations, and maybe some volunteer hours. You don’t necessarily have to have LOR’s but they help build your application. Whether you go to a university or a CC you’re going to have an equal opportunity. It’s not always fair, for example, if someone from a university has a 3.5 and someone from a CC has a 3.5 they’re both on the same level even though university is harder. In my opinion if you’re looking to be a transfer student then CC is probably the better route to take, you save a lot of money, smaller classes, and it’s not as challenging as most universities. Just make sure you take classes that can transfer, and you have 30 hours when trying to transfer.
