[Transfer Applicant] Spring Semester 2016

So my portal says:
Your application is complete.
An admissions decision has been made by the college(s) listed on your application.
You will receive notification from only one college choice shortly.

Why do we only receive notification from only one school?

As a transfer student, colleges review your application in the order you applied to them. If one of them accepted you, the rest won’t review your admission application.

@TerminatorX3 So the first choice is most likely to be the one that accepted you right?

Not necessarily. If you meet their requirements or even better exceed them, there should be no reason for them to deny you. Your first choice can either reject or accept you. If rejected, the following college on your list will review it. If accepted, no other college will review your application.

I think I got rejected from Baruch because when I called the CUNY hotline, it said Queens College :,( If I wanna reapply to Baruch for the fall of 2016, am I going to have to go through a new application?

What was your GPA and when did you apply? Yes, you will have to go through a new application

I’m a freshman right now so I think they based it off my high school GPA which was a 3.6…?

First semester? If so, then yes. Your qualification was based on highschool record. Maybe your SAT scores aren’t high enough.

Yeah, when I applied for the current semester (as a senior in HS) I was rejected then as well, shouldn’t have expected to get in so soon. sigh

@tictac r u 100% sure u got denied? What was ur act or sat score?

Hey everyone, I recently applied about a month and a half ago as a a Transfer Applicant for 2016. I just called the CUNY Hotline, which I do about everyday to just check the update of my application, and the voice changed, saying a decision has been made by a college, and afterwards it says HUNTER College, and that they will contact me in two weeks. I’ve seen others have been accepted primarily by the college, the Hotline announced, so is that the common trend? crosses fingers Goodluck to all, hope you guys get into your desired colleges.

@deepmaroon That does seem to be the case. However, it’s still a mystery. I don’t want to go on a limb and say yes, you’ve been accepted for sure. Depending if you applied to other schools as well, you should had been able to hear their name in the notification had they reviewed your app. However, since you heard only your desired college (assuming first choice), it is more likely they have accepted you and that is when other colleges stopped reviewing your application.

@helpme97 yeah, pretty sure because I ended up calling Queens College and Baruch and Queens told me I got accepted which was my 2nd choice meaning that my 1st choice did not accept me.

@deepmaroon You most definitely did get accepted then. I think that the hotline is accurate. Congrats!

Hey everyone, just wanted leave an update. I guess the hotline is truly accurate, I’ve just received my Hunter acceptance email. Thanks for the congrats and help, everyone. Best of luck and Congrats to everyone on their transfer process!
