Transfer applicant, when to apply?

Hey all, I was wondering, as an MTAP student, when should I apply?

I currently have 29 credits going into Fall, which happens to be 1 shy of completion of the MTAP program (what has prevented me from making a serious effort for Spring admission, but I digress). With the Fall '14 application being available mid-August, should I just apply and get it out of the way? I was originally thinking about waiting until I file my FAFSA, which would demonstrate more need than the current year's. I assume there wouldn't be any financial considerations until next year's FAFSA, so waiting wouldn't really matter, would it?

As a Fall transfer I need to apply by March 1st (Priority deadline), but I definitely don't plan on waiting that long. Do I have anything to lose (or gain) by applying extremely early?

Thanks.

Won’t really lose anything applying early. You’ll gain the peace of mind knowing it’s done. Also, you can send in your latest transcripts after the fall semester and they’ll update your application. Financial aid actually sucks for in state transfer students because you aren’t eligible for state grant or college grant the first year because the deadline for those is in February and you can’t apply for financial aid until you’re in the college (decision april, earliest registration may).

That kinda stinks about FA. I’ll start looking into scholarships that I might qualify for and get some applications filled out. I think I MAY wait until December to apply (so I can put my application in having fully completed the MTAP program, 30 CC credits required).
