Transfer applicant's chances!

What is your major?
Sorry, I wanna transfer but worried I am not up to par!
I will be coming in as a geography major.

My major is International Affairs. What is your gpa? Will you have an AA by the time you transfer?

so ttriber i take it that your not going to bother with UF...congratulations btw

Well to be honest I like FSU better but my parents told me to apply to UF due to it being closer to my house so I did and since I got accepted to FSU I will probably end up going there. I'm still waiting on UF for their decision and its taking quite a while so I have my mind set on FSU.

from what i hear....uf will not decide on you till in april...fsu orientation is in march, you do the math.

I also applied to both schools, i have not decided what I will do yet, possibly defer myself from fsu till fall if I do get accepted, to have room for uf decision.....i dont know but ill work it out

Orientations are rolling, and March will not be the only one. It is the only one scheduled and offered currently, but they even have orientations about 3-4 days before summer term and again before fall term for those who heard late. Class selection is not as good at that time, but it is available none the less.

Admissions are rolling, and sometimes they wait for spring grades before accepting even for summer B or fall. It is a waiting game..... and you can wait to hear from UF until which time FSU gives you a deposit deadline.

ttriber, i am a freshman currently. last semester it wasn't so good. it was a 3.0. the summer it was a 3.8. i am doing well right now with about a 3.5.
i will have an AA by the time i transfer, and it will be from a florida university.

sophiegirl, You may not have to leave Jacksonville to attend Florida State. If I were an FSU alumna, I would pitch a sissy fit over Florida Community College changing its name to Florida State College. Hard to believe the FSU community said it was okay for them to use the similar name. Newspaper article attached:

New name: FCCJ to be Florida State College at Jacksonville | Jacksonville.com

That is not permanent, yet. As an FSU alumnus I do not like the proposed name change of that school in Jax. I suggest we contact our state representatives and let them know our impression of the proposed name change.

The Florida State College was one of the early names of FSU.

well i already am at a university. the university of north florida.
i would like to go to FSU because my school doesn't have my major.

sophie, I think lizard was being sarcastic....

Wrong diagnosis. sophie, I didn't intend any barb for you in my comments. Good luck in your college future.

Sarcastic is a strong word. I do think it kind of amusing though, FCCJ trying to use the name Florida State College

I didn't mean you were being sarcastic TO sophie, I meant you were being sarcastic about there being a Florida State in Jacksonville. I'm not crazy about the name Florida State College either!!!!!!! And I hope sophie becomes a REAL FSU student.

Thanks! I am working hard at it!

FCCJ is becoming a 4 year school because it's getting harder to get into UNF.
I agree, the name is stupid.
Kids here call FCCJ "****ing coolest college in Jacksonville" and I like that. It's funny.
Excuse my language haha.

i got in 3.93 cc from MDC
