Transfer applicants... have you heard yet?

Anyone? Mine is still pending.

ugh, I hate waiting.
-A

My application is still pending, as well. The website states that the transfer decisions will not be released until early June. I hope that we don't have to wait that long.

I hope that's not true. They told me the decision will come out in mid April, which to me was very late already, I don't know how I can handle June.
Now since it's over with freshman applicants (I think, April 1st that's what they all said), I hope they're starting on us and it won't take too long.

They told you? I just looked up info on their website. I suppse the information you have is more accurate. Mid-April sounds good to me. Good luck.

Yup, I got tired of waiting so I emailed them to ask when the decision would come out and that's what they said. On which website did you find your information anyway? Send me a link, will ya? Just wanna check it out but I really really hope it won't take that long.
Looks like there are not many transfer students on this forum, nobody ever responded when I asked what they think about my chances of getting in :-(

I found it on their website. I just can't find the link... Maybe, I made a mistake! I don't know. I compiled a list of the notification dates for all the schools to which I applied and for UTA, I marked early June.

If the decision isn't made this month, i'm not going to end up going. Other colleges want an answer by May 1st. Oh well, whatever... just wish i'd have saved the $$ from the app fee.

-A

FYI:

OK, I just called and was told that the transfer decisions would be made avail online by the end of the month. Acceptance of offers for admissions are still due by May 1st as well.

-A

Oh well, last month they said it would be early April, last week they answered my email and said mid April, now they're pushing it to the end of the month. This is driving me crazy.

That is crazy... I suppose they are procrastinating at our expense.

I don't think they have any "deadline" for the decision and those answers were just to keep us from calling them back because they are "very busy" people!

Well, the lady I spoke with I gave a puzzled tone to about how they expected us to accept by May 1st, and she said, well, they'd have to let us know by then. Whatever.

Did anyone else get an e-mail from Financial Aid? I got an e-mail saying:

The Office of Student Financial Services has received your 2005-06 FAFSA
application data electronically from the US Department of Education.
However, we cannot process your application because you are not
currently admitted for the year for which you are applying for aid at
the University of Texas at Austin.

Questions regarding your admission status should be directed to the
Office of Admissions at 512-475-7399 (512-475-7440 for freshmen;
512-475-7390 for Graduate students) or the Admissions home page
at: http://www.utexas.edu/prospective.

The OSFS home page is http://finaid.utexas.edu.

Doesn't sound like it means they are denying my admission, it sounds like they are having some departmental coordination issues. Anyhow, if I didn't get in, I sure wish they'd just post that **** online, i'm sick of waiting.

-A

That's an awful email from fin aid. How can we reply by May, if it is already April 16, and they did not inform us of our acceptance/denial status? That is ridiculous. I am sorry chemeng1 about the uncool letter. Good luck!

Noone has heard, still? It's crazy! I had everything planned out based on the belief that I would have the decision by early April (what they told me at the beginning). Summer classes, summer job, vacations...now everything is hanging there waiting! If I don't get accepted then it's gonna turn out to be a huge mess.

I think that we might hear next week. Or am I being overly optimistic?

Still nothing. I will check daily and post back when I hear from them either way. No sympathy if I didn't get in, tho, ok? Honestly, I am wondering if the attitude of the admissions department is indicitive of the attitude we should expect from the administration as a whole. Everytime i've contacted people at GA Tech i've been met with nothing but respect and helpfulness, I wonder why the difference with the UTA staff. hmm?

Anyhow, i'll post back when I know.

-A

Yea. I will post if I receive a decision also. Good luck.

I still have not heard either. I sent them an email and the guy said that if I applied by 2/2/05 then i would hear by April 1st. I applied a little later than that, but it is April 19th!!!

Are we really supposed to reply by May 1st? It's kind of like they are just doing this so that we will go ahead and accept somewhere else. There have been a lot of articles in the paper about how they are running out of room for students. I'm not so sure that I really want to go to UT anymore.

I just got off the phone with UT admissions and the lady said that they just started making decisions about transfer students. And she said that I probably would not know for another month. So, I guess I'm not going to UT because I have to decide on the other universities that actually accepted me. I guess I can always go somewhere else and if I don't like it then I will go to UT in the spring or next fall. UT is definately not worth all of this trouble.

That's bizarre that they claim applicants who submitted their application before 2/2 would be notified already. I submitted mine on 2/6, and I haven't received anything. I haven't been accepted anywhere else yet though, so I guess I need to keep waiting. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.
