Transfer applicants waiting..

Anyone here also a transfer applicant or am I the only one? Idk how long I have to wait...probably til May?...

I'm a PR major for dodge, so I know my chances are really slim since I'm a transfer too! gah i'm so nervous.

I’m waiting as well, I applied to the Creative Writing program… i wonder what are your stats? Aren’t they letting us know in April??

Same here… I applied to the Dodge screenwriting program so my chances aren’t great. These are my stats, if anyone cares:

Stats:
SAT Total: Didn’t take
ACT: 28
SAT Subject Tests: Didn’t take
GPA-UW/W: 3.8
Rank: N/a
AP/IB classes: N/a
Subjective:
Essays: Really good
Teacher Recs: Good
Counselor Rec: Good
EC highlights: None, but lots of hobbies and my creative resume looked good
Location/Person:
State or Country: California
School Type: Community college
Ethnicity: White
Gender: Female
Other Factors, hook?: I acted professionally for a few years, write and perform sketch comedy/improv at a couple different venues, and had a writing tryout for SNL at 17, so I made mention of that.

My stats and test scores were horrible and thats why i was hoping to ride on my essays because my essays were excellent…but idk. usually if your stats are horrible, essays don’t do much, no matter how amazing they are. sigh…

Stats:
SAT Total: 1550/2400, yeah i know, bad.
ACT: bad, shouldn’t have sent them
SAT Subject Tests: bad, shouldn’t have sent them
GPA: 3.86 first semester college, but was a 3.2 in HS.
Rank: Top 20% of a huge public university
AP/IB classes: Took two AP’s in HS. Didn’t do so well on the AP test either.

Subjective:
Essays: Really, really good. Well i least i think so…i had it read by four people and they all said it was excellent. I had specific and succinct points as to why i want to transfer.
Teacher Recs: Amazing
Dodge College Rec: My boss for my intern sent in a rec for me for the PR program at Dodge
Counselor Rec: Mediocre, shouldn’t have sent them…
EC highlights: Tons of EC in HS, mostly leadership. Marching band captain for two years, SADD club president for two years, acted in a lot of drama productions, tons of community service hours, judo for three years, paddling for two years, SA senate, Treasurer of PRSSA club in college, just got invited to the national society of collegiate scholars

Location/Person:
State or Country: Hawaii
School Type: Public University
Ethnicity: Asian
Gender: Male
Other Factors, hook?: Dunno if i have any. I’m interning at a company right now that is related to the major i chose. Had some awards in HS like student of the month and some service awards. but thats about it…

I know my scores are really bad and i think once they see my score, they’re not going to even care for my essays and EC’s, because its so bad :frowning: I’m just not a good test taker…

I am a transfer student as well. I read that decisions will be sent out begging April 1.
BTW a question…
I was unable to get any letters of rec  anyone know how much that will affect my chances?

Hi, i am a currently studying in a college outside USA and I’m planning to apply as a transfer student… I am going to write my SAT on june 5. My cgpa for the two terms i have completed is 3.4. I am looking for an economics major… What SAT score will be good enough to get me into the top 20-30 colleges? I was a part of my school basketball team as well as the drama team…I currently write for the ‘feature’ section of my college newspaper… So what SAT score should i aim for?
Any help will be greatly appreciated… Thanks =)

A little OT, but how does one know if their essays are “good” or “excellent?” Just curious, because I know I write well but I don’t what Chapman’s interpretation might be.
I’m a transfer too, my stats are crazy since I’m older and originally from out of state schools except for my last school (JC).

How you wanna define “excellent” in your essays is totally up to you. I thought my essays were excellent because of the fact that I was confident about them, and mainly, because I actually liked it. I also had people read them and they thought it was great. But then again, Chapman may have different interpretations on them and I can’t really help that…so all I can do is hope for the best!

has anyone heard back for transfers yet? i am still pending… :(

i am dying, checking everyday haha. i’m transfering as a sophmore, and an english major

My webadvisor status was updated on 4/23 to Admissions Approved. I applied on March 1st for the Fall 2010 semester. I had called on 4/22 asking when we could expect to hear back from admissions and the lady said they had up until the middle of May to send their responses. So be patient, I know the wait sucks, but they’re slowly(literally) getting through the pile of applications. Good luck to all & stay positive! :)

“Admission Approved” as of today, the 28th, i couldnt be more excited!!

Mine still says Decision Pending and was last updated 4/21. Argh. (But congrats to you two!)

@ aurevoirshosanna …

I’m still pending as well. I think we’ll be pending until at least mid-to-late May. Any type of major within Dodge college will unfortunately have a longer wait.

Well, my webadvisor changed to Admission Approved today! I know at least one other person in Dodge who’s been accepted already, so it looks like they’re ahead of schedule.

My status just changed to Admission Approved too! I am PR/Advertising major at Dodge. :] So excited! Hopefully you guys will hear soon too!

hey guys how long ago did you receive information regarding webadvisior? I never received a letter or email explaining how to activate mine

xxpendable - i actually never received it in the mail so i had to call them up. and they will give you your sn and password. good luck!

For those who were accepted, did you guys apply for housing? It says transfer students priority deadline for housing applications are may 1st, but how were we supposed to do that already if we were JUST accepted?

I applied as a transfer late March, I just recieved a status change on Webadvisor to “admissions approved”. Does anyone know if applying late as a transfer will negatively affect my chances of getting a scholarship if I get in?

cnn- shouldn’t be. but i’m not sure.

Did you apply for housing already?
