Transfer Application Picture

I was wondering if anyone thought it would be a good idea to include my picture in the application? I want to includea picture of me playing football - Im not smiling and look kinda ugly in it but I want Cornell to know that I play football
thanks

O and by the way, I am a transfer applicant from Lehigh

Why don't you just write that you play football in your ECs section.

um, if you look kinda ugly, i wouldnt recommend it. Looks always play an important role on first impression lol

Well its not that I look "ugly", its that I am not smiling and I haven't shaved in like two weeks

well....your application is sent to a processing center where they physically scan your application into the computer system. So I'm not sure if they would be able to scan the photo in to go with your app.....just a random assumption on my part

It is?!?

Uh oh, well I mailed in some additional stuff (newspaper clippings, recommendation letters, etc.) to the transfer processing center a while back. They might be hard to physically scan into the computer; would they throw them all out? The people reading my application need to see all that stuff! (I was just following the direcitons that said mail all application-related materials to that specific address...)

No....I do believe they'll try to scan it in...just means more reading for the adcom :-)

In my opinion, an unpleasant photo (i.e. not smiling) would give a bad impression.

Don't do that. Just take a normal picture where you're dressed nicely and look friendly into the camera.

I don't think adding a picture is a good idea; it's just more for them to look at and manage. I know for the hotel school they specifically ask for a picture so if they wanted to see you they would have no problem asking.

collegehopefully, what year in school are you? to which school are you applying?

They wouldn't ask for a picture if they wouldn't want one. If you have a reasonably good looking picture, take it. If, without much work, you can get a reasonably good looking picture, take one. If not, don't use a picture.

Collegehopefully is actually my roommate. He is a jerk. This whole thread is his practical joke, I had a long discussion with him about whether or not to include my football mugshot as part of the optional photo thing for Cornell and Penn. And so he posted this up here and said, "Hmmm... why don't you go check the Cornell forum on CC, they might have something new up".

And I fell for it. All this time I was wondering why this guy sounded so much like my identical twin.
