I applied for transfer in October 2011, by suggestion of my advisor, and have just now received this message from UF:

"Your application for admission to the University of Florida for the Fall 2012 term has been received and is being evaluated. Once your grade point average is calculated and your eligibility is confirmed, your application will be sent to your college for a final decision."

Does this mean that I have been accepted into the University and am waiting for the college to accept me? Or is this a general message to all applicants.

By the way, I am transferring from the local College of Central Florida with a 4.0 GPA and an A.A. degree in May.

No it does not mean you are accepted. It just means that the college you applied for (CLAS, CALS, Engineering…or whatever) will review your application and if it’s up to them to make the final decision. For example my major will be History and so I applied for CLAS and then they will review my application before they decide to accept or reject me for that particular program I applied for as a transfer.

So it doesn’t mean I have been accepted, but it means I was not rejected in their initial view of my application, right? I’m just trying to sound hopeful.

I am applying to the Health and Human Performance for Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. I have been in contact in with the admissions advisor there and what he said has been encouraging.

oh no don’t worry it is a good sign that they referred it to the college you applied for. I’m not sure how long they take before they make their final decision though. Hopefully you find out soon, best of luck I hope you get in. :)
