Transfer Application QUESTION

Hey everyone. I wanted to know if Cornell is going to put up either an editable pdf or online transfer application. I remember one the freshman application last year you could type in all your info and then print it. I hate writing in all the information by hand and having an editable pdf or online application would be a lot easier and a lot neater. Thanks.

Supposedly the current transfer app is editable, but I'm sure it isn't.
you can contact admission if it really bothers you.

uhh...if you have a problem with it you can add text boxes in the pdf itself...its one of the tools in the tool bar up on the top. So just make a text box and type and print. Its a pain in the ass to put in every text box but beats writing and showing cornell that you have crappy hand writing:) (I had my mom fill out my app so I didn't look retarded)

jazz before suggesting something to other people make sure it's true. First of all, most people have the free adobe acrobat which doesn't have such option as adding text boxes. This could be overcome by getting a professional pdf editor. However, in order to make any change in the pdf you have the creator or be given the permission to edit it.

hey dink...i have the free version and it works...

lol dink, and I thought my friend was the only one to use that word . . . haha

No it doesn't.
you do can comment using the free ver ONLY if the creator allowed it. I don't know how you believe Cornell allowed their application to be edited.
Have your mom check it out becuase obviously you can't do it either.

okay, I have the free version of adobe acobat. So could someone please tell exactly what I would have to do so that I can type in my information on the transfer app, I don't care how long it takes. Thanks.

jason you were misled by jazz. I checked it thoroughly and there is no possible way to do it. Think about it logically, why would Cornell leave their app editable? Think about the problems it can cause.
Your best bet is to call admission.

i just downloaded a PDF editor and it allowed me to add my own text into the cornell transfer app. The only problem is that it leaves this huge watermark/stamp at the top and the bottom of the application. Anyone have any other advice? Thanks.

what pdf editor did you use?

nevermind don't answer that.

Just downloaded adobe acrobat pro.
Well, I was kinda wrong, using the pro version you can insert text.

could you possibly give me a crack for it?

I downloaded a trial ver. of the acorbat professional, but maybe its possible with the standrad version too. Basically you need to find a tool called "text box tool", it looks like "T+". Using that you can create boxes and write text in them. By default the boxes are yellow with a visible border, but you can change the properties to be white background with no border. My advice is dl the the pro trial of adobe acrobat. Its for 30 days which is more then enough.

hey NJCC..youre a deu-che-bag:)...and umm..i edited the cornell application with my adobe pdf viewer and i think it might be the full one...not sure but i know its nothing that cornell doesnt want you to do...as i did it..

i still need help nothing i tried is working even the adobe acorbat pro 7.0. help!

ok dude..the tool bar up top...click on the little thing that looks liek a pencil..the little arrow next to it and a pop down window goes down...and click on the add text button and drag a text bar where you want..

There is a huge diffrence between the free version and the pro one. Count on you to confuse between the two.
I, as oppose to you, had only the free version and indeed all I have said is true regarding the free version.

Its alright I figured it out I downloaed NitroPDF free 30-day trial and it works perfectly. Thanks everyone especially NJCC and Jazz
