TRANSFER Application Question

2 questions…

1) My major use to be architecture so I took some architecture classes. But my major changed. So since I changed my major there is no where on the application to put my architecture classes SO does that mean I don’t include those transferable architecture classes when I’m calculating my GPA?

2) For my major they want me to list physical environment classes. That only inclues like Geology or Geography courses right?

1) I believe any classes that are considered transferable courses should be included in your GPA even if they don’t necessarily pertain to your major. But anything that is like a 101 course that isn’t CSU-transferable should NOT be counted in your GPA.

2) I’m not sure which courses you need to put in that section. Is this under the “Major-related” section or the transfer supplemental section? Have you taken any courses that would fit in that category? If not, then obviously don’t put anything there but I would check with assist.org to make sure your courses articulate with Cal Poly.

alright thats what i thought as well about the gpa thing.

its major related. I didn’t take any classes in that category so thats why i was asking what kind of classes they were. oh well.

but thanks 4 the reply

What if SLO doesn’t have and articulation with my community college on assist.org?

@Surfbuff - I believe in the application under the major-related courses there is a tiny *help link that you can click on to look up your major and what classes you must fill in for the appropriate major course section. But if you didn’t do those classes then I guess this information doesn’t help anyway.

@CSUChopeful - I’m not positive, but if there is no articulation then I would imagine it’s quite difficult to get accepted there since Cal Poly is so impacted. You MUST have at least some of those classes fulfilled to be considered admission (in my experience anyway). I could be wrong though, so maybe search more or call admissions to find out.
