Transfer Application to U Pitt

I know this has probably been discussed before, but i need to get your input.

I recently completed my transfer application to University of Pitt. I was coming from Drexel University, which is a comparable school in terms of academics.

Anyway, here is what im nervous about!

My GPA was strong for 2 trimesters, then during the last one my dad got really ill and passed away. I was going full time to school, had to calm my brother down, and help my mom out. It turned out to be a full time drop!

The unfortunate thing is this sinked my GPA, as i got a C+, C, C and had to withdrawal from 2 classes. Previously, i had goten nothing less then a B.

In regards to his illness, he had a brain tumor. This first appeared Junior Year in High school when I was a junior. he had a biopsy, did the whole chemo thing, and made a recovery. brain tumors screw you up for life, so he was never the same after that. Anyway, when i was at drexel it came back in full swing, he had a crainomoty (SP), and because his brain rewired himself, he couldnt move his right side for a few weeks. then he recoverd well, was able to get speech back, then he had a stroke. And then went into a diabetic coma, and then passed away in december. So it was tough. I addressed this in two essays :one describes how it was a catalyst of change, and one described how it effected my grades.

In high school, my SAT's were around 1140 or so, and my GPA was in a percentage, not on a 4.0 schoo. it was in the high 80's. We didnt have a class rank.

So what do you think my chances are here? i absolutely love it, but im getting nervous because i ended up withdrawing from drexel. So then i might not have any options left.
