Transfer application

Hi, so I am an international student studying in the United States I attended a university here for an year but I didnt do well and didnt get good grades in my first semester, second semester was just fine. However I took a semester break after that and moved to a community college where I am currently enrolled. Now I am going to apply to a university and it is a big university (Not the Ivy’s) and I have a GPA of 3.8 at the community college that I am attending. My question is should I mention about the first university and send my transcripts from that university in my application to the university that I am going to transfer to? (Once again my first semesters grade in that university were really bad due to some bad circumstances but my second semester was fine.) Is it possible I could just send my second semesters transcript from that university?

Thanks for your time and suggestion in advance!!!

Yes you have to list all colleges attended on your transfer application. There will be a record of you attending the first university at the college clearinghouse, so you do not want to hide this fact.

Thanks I will do so but this would reduce my chances of acceptance right (considering I did super super super like really bad in my first semester of the university that I attended at first)? Also what universities should I consider in this case? I really want to get in to a good university for computer engineering bachelors degree.

Have you discussed your situation with the Transfer Advisor at your community college? That person’s whole job is to help you find a good place to transfer to. Chances are that the Transfer Advisor has helped a lot of people with academic records even worse than yours. Ask specifically about articulation agreements for your major. If you complete an associates degree in pre-engineering or computer science or the like, which universities will grant you direct admission to your major?

I have talked to the transfer advisors but the community college that I am attending is not connected with the university that I want to transfer to. I do not wish to attend the university that it is connected to for 2-2bachelors degree transfer (they are not really good universities). Also I am looking at universities that are out of state. But thanks for the suggestion I will talk to my academic advisor once again.
