Transfer apps and high school grades...

I know i'm thinking a bit too far ahead, but i'll ask nonetheless.

High School:
uwgpa: 3.27
wgpa: 4.25
rank: 220/1151

All AP classes

AP scholar w/distinction

SAT I: 1420 (800v 620m)

Good ECs

Now, if I went somewhere like Bard College or University of Vermont, what kind of grades/ECs would I need to transfer to somewhere like Brown, Georgetown, Middlebury, etc? Is this even feasible?

Thanks.

moocow. I think you have a shot. Listen, I am transfering from a community college with 63 credit hours completed with a 3.46 GPA. I have been accepted into Penn and Hopkins, so far. My high schools grades were average, at best. The only edge I have is that I am 32 years old and have been a working professional for the last twelve years.
Altthough I didn't realize it at the time, Penn and Hopkins stated that my age and work expereince was viewed more favorably than someone who is younger with a better GPA and test scores.
However, it still shows that you ALWAYS have a chance. Good luck.

youve been accepted into penn? university of pennsylvania? for what term?

3.27 uw and 4.25 weighted? What scale are you using??

I wan accepted for the fall of 2005. I also forgot to mention that I volunteered over 400 hours of my personal time, in 2004, to my community. One of my recommendation letters came from a leader in our community, here in Houston. Volunteer work is something that these schools view very favorably. The only catch with me being accepted is that Penn and Hopkins will not offer me on-campus housing. That's ok, though. Given my age, I would rather live off-campus, anyway. I am a real estate agent, so it will be fairly easy for me to locate housing through my broker.

northrams...Yes, It is Upenn. I am a Quaker. I talked to Brown recently, and they said that the Ivies are trying to admit more adult students in an attempt to mix up the classroom and make it more diverse. They feel adult students, with significant work experience, would bring a unique perspective to the classrooms.
Hey, I guess I just applied at the right time. I am still waiting decisions from Yale, Brown and Georgtown, but at least I have Penn and Hopkins in my back pocket.

When did you submit your transfer application to Penn and when did you hear from them? Today I got a letter from Penn with a username and password to check my admission decision but they said they will email me when it is available. When should I expect this email?

i like the thrills...I submitted my application and materials over two months month ago. Robert Lane, the director of admissions of the liberal arts program told me that they are getting to the adult applicants first. They gave me an admissions decision within two weeks. Because I am adult student, they probably are handling the application process a little different than "traditional" undergraduates.
