Hi, this is my first time posting on this forum and I’m looking for advice regarding transfer to a UC. I’m currently in my second semester at a California Community College with a 4.0 GPA so far. I want to transfer to UCLA or UCSD as a life science major and have been completing coursework that satisfies the prereqs required for these schools. The problem is that I will be able to complete everything except for a semester of organic chem. Due to prerequisites and course availability, I won’t be able to take even one semester of Ochem. I will, however, be able to complete the physics series if that makes a difference. Have you or anyone you know gotten into UCLA or UCSD without having taken any OChem yet? By the way, staying a third year just to complete OChem is not an option for me, and I don’t know of any community colleges near me that offer it during the summer, so I probably won’t be able to complete it before transferring regardless. Thanks in advance.
Is money a factor for you? If not, I do have some methods…
I’d like to hear them then. Also, another question: Would saying on my app that I would take Ochem over the summer of 2016 at a UC extension help my chances? Of course, I actually would take the class.
