this is my 2nd year at a CC. i plan on transferring for fall07 as a junior. is status of sophomore or junior based on how many units you have taken? because if i don't get into my choice of uni this year. i plan on stayig another year at the CC (3 years total). by then woudl i transfer as a senior? doesnt make too much sense.

you'd still have to spend 2 years at most colleges. so it will take you 5 years for a BA. Not too much of a big deal.

most universities have a two year residency requirement

many universities that i've looked into also give students with 3 years or more low priority - meaning it's harder to transfer.

how many units do you have? If you have 90-120ish quarter units, you will be admitted as a junior transfer

really its harder if i stay at cc longer? i have around 40-45 semester units right now. after i finish this fall and next spring ill have about 60 units.

That would be fine, the 60 semester units.
