Hello everyone so I just transferred to Cal Poly SLO from SBCC. My dream school was SDSU which I got into but they did not respond until a month due to being waitlisted and after I chose already to go to Poly. So far going to this school has been a nightmare, people have been so stuck up and mean and apparently transfers being intergraded to this school is a big issue that other students and facility have told me. Its very UN-inclusive and surface like here. I would call myself a social butterfly that loves being around people but this place has made me very depressed. The vibe and people have and school are not working for me. It has been 2 months and it seems like no hope insight. I would like to see if it would be possible to transfer again but this time to SDSU. Is it possible to transfer again to another state school and already had accepted me? When can I transfer? Can I transfer midway after my 2nd quarter? Have not been able to find information on this and if it is possible.
@lkbeck93 SDSU’s main campus does not accept transfer applicants for Spring 2017. SDSU’s Imperial Valley Campus http://www.ivcampus.sdsu.edu/ is accepting Spring 2017 applicants (and they close on October 30). Applications are now open for San Diego State’s main campus (and other CSU’s) for Fall 2017 (which is the earliest you can start at SDSU’s main campus if admitted).
I suggest you put in an application now (and apply to other CSU’s that you feel may be a better fit) and in the meantime do the best you can academically, get good grades, and join clubs that you are interested in. By the time spring rolls around, things may have improved at SLO and you may decide to remain there.

Just remember, that the unit cap for CSU transfers is 70 semester/105 quarter units, so depending upon how many units you currently have now and will end up by Spring 2017, you may not be able to get credit for all the classes if you transfer to another CSU.
As Jon Kabat-Zinn famously wrote, “Wherever you go, there you are.”
It might be worth some introspection about what you are unhappy about and what you can/could change that’s within your control. The last thing you’d want to do is transfer yet again and still find that you’re unhappy.
Good luck on the quest!
