Can someone get transfered to a university on the basis of outstanding high school results and excellent GPA? I know students who have outstanding results in A Levels and even distinctions but little or no extra curricular activities. Do they have a chance when appyling to Harvard, Yale etc?? thx

can anybody answer?

The college record is more important than the high school.

yeh but im talking about world toppers here. People get grades like 99% 98%, what do u think abt that?

they still want to see extra curricular activites. that shows that you're involved in the community. that's somehting they want... involvement. of course, it never hurts to apply.

I'd also imagine that they'd want to know why that person's college record isn't as strong as their HS record, if there's that much of a discrepancy. If the grades aren't all that different, I would think that person has an good chance of transferring (depending on how the school views essays and ECs), but if they are I would guess that this change would need to be explained.

are your university extra curricular activities counted?
